2019 Impaired Driving Conference, May 8 – 9 in Laramie

The State Impaired Driving Program will be hosting the 2019 Impaired Driving Conference in Laramie May 8 – 9, 2019 at the UW Conference Center 2229 Grand Ave.   The conference is targeted for law enforcement officers, prosecutors and prevention advocates.  Topics will cover Inhalants, Vaping-Juuling, Toxicology, DRE update, DUI Defenses, Alcohol/Drug trends to mention a few.  Drug Recognition Experts are encouraged to attend to receive the required training hours for certification.

The national AAA Courtroom Training for Certified Drug Recognition Experts will be held May 7th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  DREs and prosecutors are encouraged to attend this valuable training.  For those who will be attending this training, you will need to forward your CV to by May 1st.


A block of hotel rooms have been reserved at both the Hilton Garden Inn and the Holiday Inn for the state rate of $94.  Please indicate you will be attending the Impaired Driving Conference to get the rate.  Hotel conference rate reservation cut off is April 22nd.

We will also be holding an awards banquet the night of May 8th.  This banquet will be free to conference attendees.  You will need to register to attend through the Conference Registration form.

It’s time to thank and recognize those traffic safety and substance abuse prevention champions who are making an impact in Wyoming.

The Traffic Safety and Substance Abuse Prevention Awards will be presented in conjunction with the biannual Wyoming Conference on Impaired Driving held May 8-9, 2019 in Laramie, WY at the Hilton Garden Inn.  A banquet will be hosted on May 8th to honor those in Wyoming who go above and beyond to make Wyoming a safer, healthier place to live, work and play.

Please consider nominating someone known to have made an impact within their community, the State, or within their professional world to make Wyoming a safer, healthier place to work, live, and play.  These individuals or organizations are making an impact in law enforcement, prevention, prosecution, judicial, legislative, education, and/or community service efforts.  Nominations should be made for people who make an impact in traffic safety (impaired driving, distracted driving, occupant protection) or prevention (alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs) efforts.  Individuals and organizations may be nominated by any person who is familiar with the efforts and activities of the nominee.
